A primary research article in Science is an article that describes an original experiment that leads to the creation of new knowledge in a specific field of Science. A primary research article should contain the following elements. • Title of the article • Names of authors • Abstract of the article • Background research that lead to this experiment • Description of the experiment or original research • Explanation or recipe for the experiment conducted (what was done) • Results of the experiment (diagrams, graphs, charts, etc.) • Conclusions reached as a result of this experiment • References and Notes (Citations listing sources these authors used to create this experiment) Maintained by Theresa Borchert.
