PRE stands for Pura Raza Española…the official name for the Pure Spanish horse in Spain. In Britain, it is usually translated as Purebred Spanish horse. Spanish horses must be registered in the official Spanish Studbook in Madrid to be called PRE’s. Many Spanish horses are not PRE’s.
