What is a Post-Bacc Program and how do I choose one?
Post-Bacc programs are designed to help people who have completed their bachelor’s degree gain entrance into medical school by addressing weaknesses present in their applications. Typically these are students who are not academically strong enough to apply to medical school or who haven’t taken the prerequisite coursework. Eligibility varies from program to program and each is often organized with a specific kind of student in mind. Programs might focus on individuals from economically or educationally disadvantaged backgrounds, or on students who have already applied for medical school admissions and were unsuccessful. Requirements are often very specific and programs differ greatly in how they go about preparing students for medical school applications.
