What is a Positive Behavior System?
A Positive Behavior System emphasizes, acknowledges, and rewards all appropriate or positive behaviors. What are the basic elements of our system? 1. Appropriate behavior is modeled and taught. 2. Inappropriate behavior is defined and discouraged. 3. Points are given to each student who displays and practices appropriate behaviors. 4. Students redeem points for weekly treats and/or participation in special events. What will our school employees do? Our school employees will make a united effort to teach and model appropriate behavior throughout each day remaining positive and encouraging students by their words and actions. What do we need our parents to do? 1. We need our parents to support us by recognizing that their student can replace bad habits (behaviors) with positive actions. 2. We need our parents to send their children to school each day prepared to respect authority and follow rules. 3. We need our parents to reinforce the basic rules that allow learning to take place at ou
