(Pokémon Organized Play Identification Number) A POP ID is how Pokémon International tracks the progress of Pokémon Players for both regular League Play, and for Tournament Rankings. Pokémon International Tracks the progress of players in order to award additional prizes, or even invitations to exclusive tournaments. Players can use this POP ID to enter Tournaments and view their standings against other players at the Local League, or even their rank out of all of the players in the entire state, or even the nation. Pokémon International monitors player’s activities using their POP IDs and awards additional prizes (usually via mail every quarter) depending on how often the player participates in League and Tournament events. POP IDs are required at every Pokémon Organized Play events (especially at Pokémon Tournaments) so it’s vital that players either keep their cards in a safe and accessible place, or perhaps memorize their POP ID numbers.
