Polycarbonate is a plastic first developed for the aerospace industry for windows and helmet face-plates. As a result of much research and development, this modern space-age material has been highly refined and is now used for making eyeglasses. Polycarbonate lenses ar e more impact resistant than any other lens material. In addition to the safety advantages, these lenses are lightweight, have a built-in UV inhibitor and are scratch resistant.
