What is a polar and non polar molecule?

hey so there are so many different ways to interpret polar and non polar molecule but the best one i think that non polar molecule contain non polar bond and with equal charge distribution (all elements share equal # of e-) (meaning when you draw the molecule out, it’s not bent, generally linear) (ex. CCl4, N2) whereas a polar molecule contain polar bond and with unequal distribution of charges (one elements take more electron than the other) such as the polar molecule H2O water, because it’s bent.
