What is a playstation portable motherboard?
The motherboard for any electronic device, including the PSP, is the backbone or main body for all of the chips, cards, ports, processors, etc to be attatched together. It contains the circuits needed for all the parts to be connected together. The main effect that it has on software like games or movies is the chipset on the motherboard. Different motherboards have different north bridge and south bridge chips which work with the central processing unit or CPU (like the Intel Core Duo in computers for example) to process data. These chipsets do some of the work of crunching the numbers. The better the chipset is, the faster the device can process information. When it comes to the PSP and portable gaming systems like that, there isn’t anything you can do to change the motherboard that would be cheaper than just buying a new PSP. If I were you, I’d get a PSP 3000 as it should have the newest and fastest chipset of the PSPs.
