What is a PIN number and where do I get one?
A PIN is a self-selected Personal Identification Number that can consist of any 5 digits other than all Zeros. Your PIN is your electronic signature and are any 5 numbers chosen by you. You will need to enter the 5 digit PIN and be able to provide your 2007 Adjusted Gross Income amount when you are asked to do so during the interview process. If your filing status is Married Filing Jointly and you choose to enter your AGI on the PIN page, enter the same AGI for both you and your spouse, if applicable in the boxes provided. However, if you e-filed with us last year and your return was accepted by the IRS, your 2007 AGI will appear on the PIN/Signature page for you to enter in the AGI box, if you LOGON with the same user (email) and Social Security Number as last season. If you did not sign electronically last year, then enter “0” in the PIN box for last year. Enter only 1 “0”, not 5. This is a numeric number, not a letter.
