While moving through the Phlebotomist Certification program, students will gain an understanding of the venous anatomy, as most blood collection will occur from the vein. Students will also study: • Techniques in Microcollection • Procedures for Specimen Collection Kits and Containers • Techniques in Patient Identification • Blood Sampling • Occupational and Safety Health Agency Regulations Often times, Phlebotomists will also perform clerical duties such as data entry on computers or processing specimen samples.
