What is a “perspective” check?

0

A perspective check is one where the resulting metrics are different from one Agent to another. For example, HTTP duration or Ping availability. Non-perspective checks return metric values that should remain consistent regardless of the Agent, e.g. an SNMP check of a router’s uptime. Technically, this could be different across multiple Agents (since they query at staggered times), but there is little benefit in doing so.
