What is a percentile score?
A. The scores on the 7333 (PET), 7000/7001 (COAST), 7500 (LEAPS), and 7700 (LEAPS Supervisor) are reported as percentile scores. These exams have no passing point and therefore, no one fails these exams. Percentile scores range from 1% to 99% and compare a test-taker’s performance to that of others who have taken the exam. For example, a percentile score of 75% tells the test taker that he or she did better than 75% of the others who have taken that test.

A Percentile score is a relative scoring system that calculates how you performed against the total population who also gave the same test. Lets say you attempted 15 questions correctly out of 30, which to you may sound not that great, but if no one else got more than 15 answers correct, you, relative to others are the best and get a percentile of 100.
