What is a PageKit?
A PageKit is a website template that you can use to create your own site or as an educational aid. Like a full website, it’s made up of some HTML files, and some images. The PageKits were all created in-house by ELATED. The idea behind the ELATED PageKits is that you can either use the ideas “out of the box”, and develop them from our start points, or you can take the bits that you need (like the basic frameset) and customise them for your own use. We hope you’ll also find the PageKits educational. Obviously, to make the best use of them you’ll need to know some basic HTML.
A PageKit is a web site template package that you can use to build your site. Each PageKit contains a main page HTML file (example) that you can use for your home page, and an inner page HTML file (example) that you can copy as many times as you like to make the other pages of your site. Then you simply insert your own text, images or other content to make your site, using a web page editor or text editor. Also in the PageKit are the image files that make up the PageKit’s design, and a CSS style sheet file for controlling text appearance and layout. The PageKit also includes the source PSD files that were used to create the template’s images. If you have a graphics editor that can open PSD files, such as Adobe Photoshop, Corel Paint Shop Pro, or The GIMP, you can easily customize the images in the template. We have many handy tutorials available to help you with the PSDs. However you don’t need a graphics editor to use a PageKit, unless you want to alter the PageKit’s images. Even then
