What is a Pacific Leaders Scholarship?
Established in 2007, the Pacific Leaders Scholarships for Public Servants is designed to help employees pursue developmental training in order to advance their career goals by furthering their education in areas related to government’s areas of responsibility. Scholarship recipients may be reimbursed up to the allowable funding maximums of $5,000 for certificate, diploma or undergraduate programs (includes CGA) or $7,500 for masters and PhD degree programs (includes CMA). Eligible reimbursable expenses are tuition and books. Ministries do not operate developmental funding programs parallel to the Pacific Leaders Scholarships for Public Servants program. However, ministries do fund job related and mandatory training as determined by the ministry and specified in the position’s job description.
