What is a Notice to Owner? Should I worry about a lien?
Florida Statute states that any contractor or subcontractor must notify the owner in writing before placing a lien on their property. Our major suppliers and subcontractors send out these notices to protect themselves. We always request lien releases when we pay these suppliers and subcontractors which indicates that payment was made and there is no need to worry about that particular party placing a lien on your property. The lending institution will require lien releases from these suppliers before they distribute funds throughout the construction process.
