What is a Non-Virtual Domain?

0

Non Virtual Domain is cheaper and usually is arranged as a subdomain on our domain. Like www.yourcompany.x5.

A non-virtual domain is the same as a virtual domain but “yourdomain.com” does not point to an IP address on our server. Instead it points to a folder, so no IP address in involved. This is also called name-based domain. It works the same on the Internet with the exception of the really old browsers which need to resolve to an IP. The only other disadvantage would be if our DNS servers were down you couldn’t work on your site whereas if you have an IP based virtual domain account, you could type in the IP address instead of yourdomain.com and still get to your site. This won’t help your customers but if you needed to get to your site to work on it while our DNS servers were down, you could use the IP. As a note, our DNS servers have never been down by themselves!
