What is a non-healing wound?
A non-healing wound is any wound that has failed to make significant progress in four weeks or completely heal in eight weeks. If you have a wound that just wont seem to go away you should contact your Primary Care Physician or a wound care specialist. An important exception is if you have a diagnosis of diabetes or neuropathy, you should seek treatment as soon as you notice a wound or break in your skin. A rash is not considered a non-healing wound and should be evaluated by your primary care physician.
