What is a “Morkie” and why would I want one?
A”Morkie” is a cross breed of two purebreeds, Malteese and Yorkshire Terrier. They are sometimes called designer breeds. A Morkie is a very sweet dog and because it is a cross breed, it doesnt have the purebreed health issures that some purebreeds face. A Morkiecan be all one color or multi colored, most of the time their tails will look curvy like a Maltes, where as a Yorkie has a stub appearance. A morkie may also have a floppy ear like a Maltese, where the Yorkie has pointy cat shaped ears. A Yorkie has a coat of hair that grows to one leanght where a Maltese has hair that keeps growing like yours and mine. A Morkie most likely will adopt this feature and have hair that constantly grows, producing a thick, beautiful coat that is fun to groom and style and may also inherit th hypo allergenic properties that the Maltese coat has.
