Video Transcript What is a Minor Triad? How you doing? We’re going to continue this series with the same concept of shape based chords fingerings, placements. And in the first episode we went through major chords. And then we identified them by where the root was in the shapes. Now we’re going to go over minor chords. And the only difference between a minor chord and a major chord is one note o.k? So, here’s your G major chord, the third is your root position. Here’s your third, and you’re going to lower that a half step. It’s a new shape. Here’s your third, and you’re going to lower it a half step, there’s your major chord again, and we’re going to lower it a half step. So the thirds of each of the shapes, o.k? Which is going to be one note of each of those shapes is going to be lowered a half step. And that’s how you build a minor chord. It’s the only difference between a major and a minor chord.
