What is a minimal risk project?
Examples of ‘low risk’ projects would include projects that: – do not involve sensitive topics eg drug research, illegal behaviours, sensitive psychological tests; – do not involve vulnerable participants (eg persons with an intellectual or mental impairment); – involve participants who remain anonymous, such as anonymous surveys (although could also include participants whose data contains identifying information); – will not be conducted in a hospital nor other health care provider; – do not involve persons highly dependent on medical care; – do not involve epidemiological research.
