What is a Mini Silky Fainting goat?
This is a fairly new breed and what the name suggests. They are small; the standard for does is no taller than 23.5 inches at the withers, and 25 inches for bucks. Their coats compared to that of a silky terrier dog. Oh, and they faint! Fainting is brought on by a condition called myotonia. Goats’ muscles freeze for roughly 10 seconds when the goat is startled or excited causing them to stiffen and fall over. It’s painless for them and they remain conscious throughout the faint.
