What is a micro- beveled edge and why do pre-finished floors always have them?

A micro-beveled edge is the very small v-groove on the face of the flooring where the edges of the flooring meet. Keystone Flooring will have the micro-bevel on the edges as well as the ends of the flooring. Our micro-bevel is measures .01″ which is one of the smallest in the industry. The micro-bevel is needed because unlike unfinished flooring that is sanded onsite, pre-finished flooring is sanded at the pre-finishing company and if there exists any inconsistencies in the sub-floor or the flooring the micro-bevel on the edges protects the edges from being chipped.
