What is a metacourse in Moodle?
A metacourse is a special kind of course that does not accept students/participants, but rather “child courses”. An example of a good use of metacourses can be seen when they are used as Common Rooms for programmes such as Honors or Post graduate courses where students are taking many options within a programme but still need a single space to come together and access information, socialise, etc. If you are interested in using Metacourses for Common Room or other solutions and would like to discuss it further, please contact Dr. Deneka MacDonald at d.macdonald@admin.gla.ac.uk A further and more detailed explanation of metacourses can be found here: http://docs.moodle.
