What is a memorial donation?
A memorial contribution to a specific cause or charity can be made in lieu of sending flowers. Often the family will express a preference. Memorial donations provide financial support for various projects which may have been a favorite of the deceased. If recognized as a charitable institution, some gifts may be deductible for tax purposes.
