What is a meeting like?
A usual meeting (if nothing special is planned) goes something like this: – You show up at Avalon a little before 5:00 PM. Many of the members should be milling about the store at this time, making some purchases and chatting . If we’ve already started the meeting, the store clerk that day will show you to us. – You walk in as everyone smiles says “Hi!” Everyone is sitting in a circle (sort of). – If you’re new, one of the facilitators will usually introduce themselves to you and tell you to take a seat. – We then start introductions, where we go clockwise and introduce ourselves. If one wishes, they state our name, age, where we work (if any), where we go to school (if any), and then usually some answer to the short-topic. The topic is usually something to let you get to know that person: their favorite color, favorite movie, etc. – After everyone is done, a facilitator will remind everyone of our Respect & Confidentiality rules. – Any announcements about upcoming events, festivals, e
