What is a Medicare Prescription Drug Plan?
In January 2006, Medicare introduced the Part D program specifically to help Medicare beneficiaries pay for prescription drugs. Medicare Prescription Drug Plans (PDP) are offered through private insurance companies such as Coventry Health Care. Enrollment in Part D plans is voluntary and the choice of a PDP is up to you.
