Just for cleaning out a wound there are a couple of words… wound irrigation, and/or flushing out a wound…also, cleansing a wound… To debride means to actually CUT AWAY dead and necrotic tissue…until it actually bleeds…when you do this, you stimulate the cells to make fresh, new skin.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Debridement: is a medical term referring to the removal of dead, damaged, or infected tissue to improve the healing potential of the remaining healthy tissue. Often this removal is surgical, but other methods exist: mechanical, chemical, autolytic (self-digestion), and even maggot therapy, where certain species of live maggots selectively eat only necrotic tissue. This treatment is usually done in gangrene cases and other serious bacterial infections, as well as frostbite.
