What Is a Master Gardener Program?
Master Gardener programs train knowledgeable volunteers to provide assistance and education in their communities about horticulture, gardening and the environment. Volunteers become qualified to teach classes, hold workshops and give lectures about sustainability, water issues, food production and plant science. Some institutions with Master Gardener programs are the University of Wisconsin, the Texas A&M University and Oregon State University.
