What is a Margin of Safety?

0

Try to think of it this way ~ If you were operating a machine, and wanted it at full power, it will state that the “margin of safety” for this appliance is between [a] and [b] If you went to [b] then something could go wrong. So it’s basically a safety note that you do not over power, or over use a piece of machinery or an appliance. It also has a lot to do with exactly what you are doing ~ take driving, when you are following a car on the motorway, the margin of safety would mean staying a distance behind the car in front in case there was an emergency, which would mean you had time to stop safely.
