What is a mantrap door system?
A mantrap is generic term for a security system that monitors and controls two or more interlocking doors in a vestibule that separates a non-secured area (outside) of the building area from a secured (interior) area. These interlocking doors allow only one door to be open at any time. Other descriptive terms used for this type of system include: Access Control Vestibuleā¢, entrance control system, access portal, access control system, entrance portal, and security vestibule. The Novacomm Access Control Vestibule⢠(ACV) is the only U.S. patented “mantrap” door system that screens for weapons.
