What is a lorry tachograph?

0

Hello, If you drive a commercial bus, coach, lorry or van, you need an approved tachograph to monitor activities covered by EU drivers’ hours rules. There are two kinds of tachograph or ‘vehicle unit’ (VU) – analogue and digital. The digital tachograph stores electronic data on you and your vehicle in its own memory and also on your smart card. It replaces the analogue tachograph for vehicles registered on or after 1 May 2006.
