What is a Location Stream?

0

A “location stream” is continuously updated high-level information about when and where someone is traveling, and it’s typically read by a calendar application. When you build a network of Connections on TripIt, you can use location streams to easily keep track of where your Connections are going, and when. When logged into TripIt, you can see this information in MyNetwork on the Connections or Calendar pages. We’ve also made it possible to access location streams without having to login to TripIt. If you use a calendar that supports the iCalendar (iCal) standard (such as Outlook 2007, Lotus Notes, or Google Calendar) then you can view your TripIt Connections’ travel plans right there in that application, anytime. The information is kept up to date via a live feed between TripIt and your calendar, so it’s a very convenient way to keep track of fellow travelers.
