What is a Living Learning Community (LLC)?
All first year students are part of a Living Learning Community (LLC). These consist of cohorts of about 15 students living in close proximity in the first year residence halls, Johnson Hall and Stauffer Hall. Students in a Learning Living Community enroll together in the College Writing Seminar taught by an instructor who usually serves as their faculty mentor. The College Writing Seminar is linked with another academic course that students also take together as a cohort. They are called Living Learning Communities because learning is extended from the classroom to the living environment! Commuter students participate fully in Living Learning Communities and are given access to the residence halls to facilitate study and socializing.
