What Is A Living Historian?
A living historian, or sometimes refered to as a re-enactor, is someone who recreates history by portraying the look and actions of a person from a particular time period. In the case of The Continental Line, living historians demonstrate the life and activities of an 18th Century military camp. With “a strong interest in history” being the leading excuse for joining this hobby, living historians come from all walks of life—teachers, doctors, lawyers, plumbers, web designers, etc. Many folks stay involved because they enjoy educating the public about history. Others enjoy being with friends, demonstrating a particular talent or craft, or simply escaping the complexities of 21st Century life for a weekend.
