What is a “Live” Video Clip?
A Live Video Clip in the timeline represents a live video source (in the current timeline format) such as a deck or camera, fed directly from the selected input. Titles, rolls, crawls, graphics and effects (including 3D DVEs on systems equipped with the A3DX module) can be applied to the live feed like any other timeline clip, and live video can be mixed with VelocityHD’s disk-based video streams, effectively forming an additional real-time “motion video” stream. Beyond the potential editing applications for this capability, the Live Clip can be used to apply titles, effects and transitions to a live source in full broadcast quality, allowing the system to be used for live applications as well as post production. VelocityHD currently supports only video in Live Clips, not live audio.
