What is a Limited Slip Rear Differential?
An aftermarket Limited Slip Differential (LSD) is one of the most dramatic handling improvements you can do to your car. An open differential always applies the same amount of torque to both wheels even when under hard cornering. If one of the wheels loses traction, torque is still being fed to that wheel. Most street cars are equipped with open differentials allowing the driven wheels to turn at different speeds through a turn. Since the outside wheel has to travel farther, it must turn faster than the inside wheel.
