What is a limited slip differential? Why buy one?
An aftermarket limited slip differential is one of the most handling improvements you can make to a car. Most cars come stock with an open differential that always applies the same amount of torque to both drive wheels. When under hard cornering, if one wheel breaks traction, the open differential continues to feed power to the wheel that has no grip. A limited slip differential sends more torque to the non-slipping wheel, allowing those wheels to make the maximum use of available power in turning the corner.
