What is a Lifecare community?

Residents at Applewood have a choice between a “Lifecare” agreement and a “Personal Choice” agreement. With a lifecare arrangement, Applewood residents who can no longer live independently can move to the assisted living or skilled nursing accommodations and receive those services at no additional cost except an additional 2 meals a day beyond what they were paying in their independent residence. With a “personal choice” arrangement, the monthly fee is lower during independent occupancy but moves to market rates for either assisted living or skilled nursing if needed.
