What Is a Lie Detector?
It is believed that certain physiological changes occur when someone is telling a lie. A lie detector, also known as a polygraph, is an instrument used to measure physiological changes such as breathing rate, body temperature, blood pressure and pulse. The person administering a lie detector test looks for noticeable changes in these measures while the subject responds to a series of questions.
