What is a Licensed Euthanasia Provider?
To ensure that every euthanasia agency can provide humane euthanasia for unwanted animals, New Mexico has a need to license Euthanasia Providers. The Board will establish training standards, minimum requirements and licensing/certification requirements for both Euthanasia Providers and Instructors. In an effort to support shelters and reduce costs, the state may offer euthanasia training as needed. The regulations for Providers will encourage participation by veterinarians by releasing them from liability for overseeing controlled substances and making license-holders responsible.
