What Is a Liability Waiver?
It is an agreement that you ride the mission at your own risk without holding Patriot Guard Riders liable for any accident or injury resulting from your participation in the mission or event. You will be required to sign a liability waiver list in order to ride/drive or attend a mission. The list is made available at each mission and must be signed at each mission. CELL PHONES Please turn your cell phones off or to “silent” during the mission. If you must make or take a call please remove yourself from within the sight and hearing of the family and other participants until your call is complete. SMOKING/EATING/DRINKING Please pack your trash back out with you if you can‘t find a proper receptacle. Put your butts in your pocket until you can find a can or ashtray. The use of a film canister or baggie has been suggested to discard butts. Absolutely NO consumption of alcohol during a mission. Respect includes respect for the church, funeral home or cemetery grounds.
A liability waiver is a legal document that seeks to obtain protection against law suits and damage awards in the event of an accident during a covered activity or event. Liability waivers are typically used in connection with sports or activities where there is some considerable risk of accidents or bad outcomes. In the scuba diving industry, the use of liability waivers are quite common. Almost any diving or boating activity offered to you will be accompanied by some sort of waiver, were you agree not to hold the individuals or the company accountable should you be involved in an accident. Were it not for the ability to obtain liability waivers from adventure sports participants, you would have very few opportunities to participate in these types of events. A business simply cannot afford to offer adventure activities if they might be held financially responsible for every accident.
