What is a lever and how does it work?
A harp lever is a hand operated device that is installed below the string nut of each string and allows the player to play in more than one key without retuning the whole instrument. The normal position of the string is parallel to the face of the neck and perpendicular to the soundboard. The lever slightly displaces the string, which shortens the vibrating length of the string and alters the pitch. Most levers can be adjusted if they do not perform satisfactorily.
