What Is A Legislative District?
A legislative district is a Congressional district. The federal U.S. House of Representatives currently has 435 seats. Each sear represent areas within states, determined by population. The greater the population has, the more districts it has. Every state is guaranteed a minimum of one. Whereas the U.S. Senate has 2 Senators for every state regardless of size or population. In state legislatures, the state Congress is determined by legislative distracts fort both the state House of Representatives, and state Senate. At the state level, the districts are usually determined by equal size land areas, rather than population. So a legislative district is an area in which the population of that area is represented by a Congress person in the federal or state Congress.
