What is a LEED AP with specialty and how do I become one?
LEED APs are described by GBCI as having an extraordinary depth of knowledge in green building practices and specialization in a particular field. There are two parts of each LEED AP exam. The first part assesses your general knowledge of the LEED rating systems, the LEED certification process, and the approaches that can be used in sustainable design. The specifications of this part of the exam are identical to those of the LEED Green Associate exam. If you have already passed the LEED Green Associate exam and have kept your credential active, you do not need to take this part of the exam.
