What is a Learning Style Inventory?
The Learning Style Inventory will give coaches and players one of the most valuable pieces of information an athlete can have. Which is, what learning style do you use to assimilate information, by sight, by feel, or by sound? This short test will tell you what your preferred mode of learning is. Individuals rely on different sensory modes to help them learn. Some rely heavily on their sense of sight, others on their sense of hearing, and still others on their sense of touch. A student’s learning style is the sensory channel through which information is processed most efficiently. The principal modalities are visual, auditory, and kinesthetic. The visually-preferred learner will ask to be shown how to accomplish a task. When directions are clear, this learner may respond with, “Oh, now I see.” An auditory learner will listen to directions and proceed readily.
