What is a Laboratory Report?
Your laboratory report is arguably one of the most important components of your laboratory experience. It is the laboratory report that will last for years to come. Long after the laboratory exercise has been dismantled, a good laboratory report will remain a useful tool. For example, suppose you need to build an interrupt-driven interface to a PC as a part of your MQP next year (or the year after). Well, the code, hardware, and explainations in the laboratory report you do this year may save you a lot of time. However, they’ll only serve that function if the report is good enough to let you reproduce the experiment you did! Also, in the real-world it is necessary to document your work so that others will understand what you did and how you did it. If you cannot communicate your work effectively to others, your career will slowly come to a halt. Enough said. On with the details!
