What is a Key Server?

0

The Key Server is a remote and highly redundant system which generates and archives encryption keys used by the local Assureon. It also receives and archives periodic file manifests from the local Assureon, which contain a listing of file serial numbers and their digital fingerprint. It has other responsibilities associated with authenticating the time of day and preventing unauthorized deletion of files by tampering with the local clocks. Normally the Key Server is hosted by Nexsan at a secure co-location facility.
