What is a “hyphenated American”, and are there other hyphenated nationalities?
A hyphenated American was an epithet commonly used from 1890-1920 to disparage Americans who were of foreign birth or origin, and who displayed allegiance to a foreign country. Commonly used to disparage German Americans or Irish Americans. On the Wikipedia link, it also shows other hyphenated nationalities. There is also Afro-Puerto Rican and Ibero-Boricua. Not sure if that’s what you mean by hyphenated nationalities though.
