What is a hutch dog bed?
Hutch dog beds are generally inexpensive beds made for extra-small dogs and cats. They are similar to a nesting bed but the high walls of the bed converge into a hutched cover or roof. Hutch dog beds are usually made entirely of fabric and stiff poly-fill, but also come in wicker and other materials. Hutch dog houses usually have three solid walls; with the fourth wall having a round entrance hole. This gives your dog or cat the secure feeling of being inside a small cave or den. These are excellent beds for cold or drafty areas but because they a generally made of fabric and poly-fill, should not be used out of doors. Hutch dog beds are usually not sturdy enough for large dog breeds and cannot carry weight on top of their hutch.
