What is a hot toddy how do you make it?
When I went to Ireland and met fifty sets of relatives, I got a terrible cold and lost my voice. Each family I visited therefore made me their variation of the hot toddy, I had excellent exposure to the choices! Some used cinnamon, some cloves, some used tea, some not, each used more or less whiskey and more or less sugar. Some used honey instead of sugar, some both. One even used golden syrup. This is my favourite: A liberal shot of Irish whiskey, a tablespoon of honey, the juice of a lemon, a few cloves and boiling water to fill the cup. All measures to taste, of course. You’ll feel better in no time!
